The Texas Water Development Board reported on Monday that while drought conditions increased slightly across the state overall, the last area of abnormally dry conditions disappeared from East Texas and continued to linger in the Texas Panhandle.
As of Monday, Texas drought conditions were at their greatest extent since mid-January after six weeks in a row of small increases. Meanwhile, future drought conditions for the Texas Panhandle were forecasted to improve in the eastern counties and worsen in the west.
