Texas drought worsens for 6th week in a row, seasonal outlook offers mixed notes on relief

MYHIGHPLAINS— As of Monday, Texas drought conditions were at their greatest extent since mid-January after six weeks in a row of small increases. Meanwhile, future drought conditions for the Texas Panhandle were forecasted to improve in the eastern counties and worsen in the west.

"Conditions can, and often do, vary widely across Texas," according to the most recent report from the Texas Water Development Board, as drought conditions expanded for the seventh week in the Texas Panhandle while East Texas contended with notable flooding.
