Pedestrians Struck; Driver Flees, Caught

New Haven Independent— A citizen followed a fleeing hit-and-run driver, and helped police find him hiding in the back of a Wooster Square pizzeria.—‘Bizarre, cruel, reckless’: Driver caught on camera intentionally hitting pedestrian in Florida. OAKLAND PARK, Fla. -- Detectives with the Broward Sheriff's Office are searching for a  man who they say intentionally hit a pedestrian. According to a press release, the incident, which was caught on camera, happened in a Publix parking lot on February 23. Surveillance video shows the driver in what appears to be a Kia soul slow down for a pedestrian to cross. He then accelerates, knocking that person to the ground before speeding away from the scene. The victim broke his leg.

WPLG—Pedestrian struck by vehicle at Miami intersection. A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at a Miami intersection Thursday morning. Miami police Officer Kenia Fallat said the man was struck and seriously injured at the intersection of Northwest 22nd Avenue and Northwest Fourth Street. Fallat said the man, who is in his 30s, was listed in critical condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital. She said the southbound lanes of Northwest 22nd Avenue between Northwest Fourth and Northwest Fifth streets were shut down during the crash investigation.
