“The alleged conduct, or misconduct, does not constitute felonious misconduct,” the judge said ahead of dismissing to felony counts. He will be tried on several misdemeanor counts.

“SBA opened the center to provide personalized assistance to California businesses and residents affected by the earthquake that occurred Dec. 20, 2022, with continuing aftershocks," Director Tanya N. Garfield of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Disaster Field Operations Center-West said in a prepared statement.

Humboldt County Public Works expects to return to the board in March for a contract award, and construction will likely begin around the beginning of May, though the work will extend into 2024. Construction will include removing trees, paving the road, reinforcing embankments, removing railroad tracks and many other activities.
“This facility is so, so much needed in Humboldt County, I want to recognize that the facility probably will fill up quite quickly once it's established,” 2nd District Supervisor Michelle Bushnell said.
