  • Man previously convicted of voyeurism jailed for breaching probation order at Derry Crown Court

    Gary North (39) of Killycor Avenue in Claudy had been convicted after police found images and videos on his devices, which they had seized on May 31 2018. Judge Philip Babington said that North had 'behaved fairly appallingly' during the course of the order.   • Suspended sentence for Derry man arrested after police call out to Carnhill area

    Patrick McGlinchey (53) of Carnhill in Derry was charged with the offence following an episode which took place on January 19 this year. At Friday’s hearing of the Magistrate’s Court in Derry, the court was told that police were responding to an incident at the time and McGlinchey was shouting at them from behind a door. Three officers eventually gained entry, and McGlinchey pushed one of them, leading to his arrest. The court heard that he had continued to shout abuse as he was being arrested....

  • Man appears before Derry Magistrates Court charged with possession of cocaine and Xanax

    Nicholas O'Sullivan (24) of Clon Elagh in Derry had been on bail for an unrelated matter. Police conducted a bail check in Claremont House on April 25 and, upon searching O'Sullivan, found a small amount of cocaine and five Xanax tablets. Defence solicitor Seamus Quigley said that O'Sullivan had made 'full admissions'. Police agreed to bail on the condition that he not enter the jurisdiction and he was released to an address in Clonmany, County Donegal.
