AUSTIN (Nexstar) -- The Texas Medical Board is scheduled to discuss clarifying what counts as medical exceptions to the state’s abortion restrictions. The board’s guidelines define ‘medical emergency’ as ‘a life threatening condition aggravated by, caused by or arising from a pregnancy’ and which ‘places the woman in danger of death unless an abortion is performed.’
