WhatsApp says it will leave India if forced to break end-to-end encryption

Neowin— In the ongoing lawsuit against the Union of India, WhatsApp stated that it would leave the Indian market if it is forced to break end-to-end encryption to comply with the IT Rules, 2021.

Representing WhatsApp, Advocate Tejas Karia also noted before the Delhi HC that not knowing which messages to decrypt would mean "millions and millions of messages will have to be stored for a number of years.”
