Vermilion Parish School Board looks to make supply list cheaper

Vermilion Today— Most parents hate the start of school because they know it is time to purchase items on the supply list that teachers provide them. When the shopping is over, a parent can spend anywhere from $30 to $114 on school supplies. Over the years, parents have complained to school board members about the extra expense of starting school. Their complaints include buying five boxes of crayons instead of one or six boxes of Kleenex when their child only needs one. The extra supplies drove up the cost.
