Vaccinations urged amid spread of whooping cough on Hawaii Island

Hawaii News Now— Several cases have been in infants too young to be vaccinated.

Honolulu Star-Advertiser—State reports another whooping cough case on Hawaii island. The Hawaii Department of Health has confirmed Hawaii island’s 11th case of pertussis, also known as whooping cough.

KHON2—Whooping cough case being spread through community. Health officials have confirmed another case of whooping cough on the Big Island, and they say it is unrelated to other recent cases.

Big Island Now—Additional whooping cough case confirmed on Big Island. The Hawai‘i Department of Health reports the new case is unrelated to the 10 previously reported cases since March. Several of the cases have been in infants too young to be fully vaccinated.
