‘Unregulated & untested’ lawmakers reject attempt to decriminalize recreational marijuana

KHON2— Lawmakers rejected a bill that would do away with jail time for anyone caught with up to an ounce of marijuana, replacing it with just a fine.

Los Angeles Times—Editorial: Reclassifying marijuana is not decriminalization, but is a welcome step in that direction. The news Tuesday that the Justice Department plans to reclassify marijuana as a less dangerous drug is most welcome. But very, very late in coming.
