Three Vermilion Parish baseball teams gear up for playoffs

Vermilion Today— Three parish baseball teams have moved on to the second round of the LHSAA baseball playoffs. All three teams will be playing at home starting Friday. Vermilion Catholic, Erath, and North Vermilion all received first-round byes. Their second-round games are all at home. Vermilion Today—Voters in Vermilion Parish reject two renewals on Saturday; three others approved. Voters in Vermilion Parish rejected two renewals on Saturday’s ballot, while three others passed. A parish-wide proposition, a 3.26 mill renewal, failed with 52% (1,106) voting against it. Support for the proposition finished with 48% (1,003 votes). The renewal would have collected an estimated $1,106,600 for an entire year for a period of 10 years to maintain public roads and highways in the parish.
