State reports another whooping cough case on Hawaii island

Honolulu Star-Advertiser— The Hawaii Department of Health has confirmed Hawaii island’s 11th case of pertussis, also known as whooping cough.
Big Island Now—Additional whooping cough case confirmed on Big Island. The Hawai‘i Department of Health reports the new case is unrelated to the 10 previously reported cases since March. Several of the cases have been in infants too young to be fully vaccinated.
