Risk management wants more funds to cover lawsuit settlements in New Mexico

KRQE News 13— The General Services Department reports funds managed by the Risk Management Division continue to dry up.

MYHIGHPLAINS—New Mexico School Superintendent Association, multiple schools file lawsuit against the New Mexico Public Education Department. The New Mexico School Superintendent Association along with multiple schools and their superintendents have filed a lawsuit in Curry County against the New Mexico Public Education Department in regard to the departments implementation of its new administrative rule, School Instructional Time Requirements.

FOX News—New Mexico reaches record settlement with company over natural gas flaring. New Mexico has reached a record settlement with a Texas-based company over air pollution violations at natural gas gathering sites in the Permian Basin. The $24.5 million agreement with Ameredev announced Monday is the largest settlement the state Environment Department has ever reached for a civil oil and gas violation. It stems from the flaring of billions of cubic feet of natural gas that the company had extracted over an 18-month period but wasn’t able to transport to downstream processors....
