The 43-year-old actor shares daughters Esmerelda, 9, and Amada, 8, with wife Eva Mendes, who he's been with since 2011. The actor is no stranger to playing troubled, darker characters, though he admitted in an interview with Wall Street Journal that his approach changed. 'I don’t really take roles that are going to put me in some kind of dark place,' Gosling said.
