Rafael Nadal poised for Laver Cup swan song in Berlin in September

The Washington Times— Rafael Nadal said Monday he will play at the Laver Cup in Berlin in September in what may be one of the 22-time Grand Slam champion’s last tournaments.

Japan Today—Swan song. A flock of swans rest in a swamp in Wakkanai on the northernmost Japanese main island of Hokkaido, after flying from the main island of Honshu where they spent the winter. The swans will fly northward to breeding grounds in Siberia.

ATP Tour—Rafael Nadal defeats Darwin Blanch in Madrid. Rafael Nadal made a winning start at the Mutua Madrid Open on Thursday when he raced past 16-year-old wild card Darwin Blanch 6-1, 6-0 after 64 minutes. The Spaniard next faces Alex de Minaur.
