According to Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon, on Friday April 26, 2024, at approximately 10 a.m., a body was located floating in a canal off of West Liberty Farm Road, south of Kaplan by a local farmer Upon arrival of patrol and detectives, a male subject was located floating in a canal.
