Honolulu police arrest 5 attempting to hike up Haiku Stairs

Honolulu Star-Advertiser— Honolulu police were ready for potential violators attempting to hike up the closed Haiku Stairs early this morning in Kaneohe.

KHON2—Honolulu police discuss last-minute Haiku Stairs adventurers. "There's more traffic and some of the people have been more aggressive telling us that this is not our property and that they have the right to do what they want to do," said Kaneohe resident Stosh Ostrow.

KHON2—Five hikers arrested for trespassing at Haiku Stairs. The Honolulu Police Department is cracking down on those illegally trespassing on private property to reach the Haiku Stairs, the increased enforcement has led to at least five arrests.

KSBW—Man arrested for 5 counts of attempted homicide in King City. King City police said they arrested an 18-year-old man for five counts of attempted homicide on Monday. His bail was set at $5,500,000 per the Monterey County Jail.
