San Antonio Current— The Tony Award-winning and multi-movie-spawning musical Hairspray is set to sashay and shimmy through a limited two-day run in San Antonio. Hairspray centers around the adventures of Tracy Turnblad (Caroline Eiseman), a feisty teenage girl living in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1960.

San Antonio Current—Comedian Jo Koy will perform at San Antonio's Frost Bank Center this fall. Standup comic Jo Koy's next tour will include a Saturday, Sept. 7, stop at San Antonio's Frost Bank Center, officials with the venue revealed Monday. The Jo Koy: Just Being Koy Tour will get underway this fall and continue through 2025.

San Antonio Current—Whataburger will give San Antonio teachers free breakfast May 6-10. San Antonio-based burger chain Whataburger will thank educators for their work with free breakfast on National Teacher Appreciation Week, May 6-10. During National Teacher Appreciation Week, any San Antonio educator who shows their school ID badge when they visit an area Whataburger will snag a free taquito, breakfast on a bun or honey butter chicken biscuit from 5-9 a.m. during the week of the promotion. Whataburger also will award 63 teachers across its 15-state footprint $1,000 grants...

San Antonio Current—Trio of RuPaul's Drag Race alums will descend onto San Antonio's Bonham Exchange May 9. Drag queens Anetra and Mirage from Las Vegas and Gala Varo from Mexico will each bring their own brand of fierce energy to the Bonham stage. Spunky Anetra finished as runner-up on Season 15 of RuPaul's Drag Race due in no small part to her viral talent show performance, which featured both duck walking and taekwondo.
