The University of Colorado Police Department has suspects in custody after a report of shots fired in the Williams Village neighborhood early Sunday morning. In an online alert, police say there were no seriuos injuries and there is no threat to the campus.
After an extended investigation, police have identified the shooter in this case. Elijah Massey, now 18, has been arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and assault by pointing a gun.
Universities, including ones in California and Texas, have become quick to call in the police to end the demonstrations and make arrests.
The arrests mark the second time in less than a week that police have broken up a pro-Palestinian demonstration. This time protesters tried to set up an encampment on campus.
