    Fire at Market Lake Wildlife Management Area near Roberts is fully contained

    The fire at the Market Lake Wildlife Management Area near Roberts is now fully contained. According to the Roberts Fire Department Chief, Jerry Vanleuven, over 100 acres of land was burned in the field. The fire was caused after a controlled fire got out of hand, due to windy conditions. No one was reported injured in the fire. Crews will continue to monitor the field this evening, while conducting spot checks around the perimeter.

    St. George Fire: Trailer fire along Hoo Shoo Too Road contained in 30 minutes

    BATON ROUGE - A crew of firefighters put out flames coming from an unoccupied trailer along Hoo Shoo Too Road on Saturday evening. The St. George Fire Department said an unoccupied trailer caught fire around 6:45 p.m. and firefighters were able to control the fire within 30 minutes of arrival. No injuries were reported and the cause has not been determined. Permalink| Comments

    A large brush fire near a busy Hudson Valley road sent plumes of smoke into the air before crews could put it out. The blaze happened in Putnam County on Tuesday afternoon, April 9 off Route 22 in Brewster, where a large brush fire ignited, Carmel fire officials said on Wednesday, April 17. The incident prompted a large response from the Brewster and Carmel Fire Departments and sent plenty of smoke into the air before it was eventually put out.  No injuries were reported. 

  • Brush Fire Reaches Car In Costco Parking Lot In Westchester

    Firefighters responded to a Costco parking lot in Westchester after a brush fire ignited next to a vehicle.  The incident happened on Tuesday, April 16 around 3:30 p.m., when a brush fire went up in the Costco Wholesale parking lot in Port Chester at 1 Westchester Ave., according to the Port Chester Fire Department.  The blaze extended to a vehicle in the parking lot before being put out, the fire department said.  The department did not detail the cause of the fire.
