Akron officer terminated over use-of-force violations

FOX 8 Cleveland— An Akron police officer who shot a 15-year-old boy believed to have been carrying a fake gun has been terminated for use-of-force violations unrelated to that April 1 incident.

In total, three people died as a result of the police use of force in 2023 and four others died in incidents in which drink, drugs and a car chase were contributing factors.
